For Sale: 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL “California Coupe” – Labrador Blue – Fully Restored – Matching Numbers

This exceptional 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL California Coupe is finished in Labrador Blue over grey and black interior,  elegant and rarely seen pairing.

A true California Coupe, it was factory-ordered without a convertible soft top or soft top well, instead equipped with a removable hardtop and a rear bench seat. Just an estimated ~250–400 examples of this variant were produced for the 1970 model year, making it one of the rarest W113 configurations.

Provenance & Care

This 280 SL has benefited from a full nut-and-bolt restoration completed to an exceptionally high standard, with no corners cut. It has been garage-kept in a climate-controlled environment since completion, ensuring the preservation of its paint, interior, and mechanical components. The car retains its matching-numbers 2.8L M130.983 inline-six and automatic transmission, verified by the VIN and original data plate. The odometer shows 86,726 miles, with only ~8,000 miles since the engine rebuild.
