Join us for a hands-on mini workshop where we’ll step outside and paint from life!

Julie will guide you through the plein air process, from setting up your materials to choosing a strong composition. She’ll also review key points covered in her presentation after the general meeting and offer personal guidance along the way.

• Weather Plan If it rains, please bring a landscape photo or image on your iPad. We’ll stay indoors but continue practicing plein air techniques.

• Workshop Goals Gain confidence in preparing for plein air painting, learn practical approaches for working outdoors, and receive suggestions on entering competitions.

"I love painting outdoors—it’s amazing to watch how the light shifts throughout the day and changes everything around me. Being out in nature inspires me, whether it’s capturing the wind moving through the trees or the way sunlight bounces off a building. When I paint, I’m really just trying to share the feeling I have in that moment."

Julie Sanderson is a plein air and studio artist who has won both national and regional awards.

She is a member of the Salmagundi Club, Oil Painters of America, and a Signature Member of the Outdoor Painters Society.
