Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist
Compensation: $75,000.00-$85,000.00/ annually
Insurance/Benefits:
• No medical or dental insurance/benefits available. No 401K benefits available.
• After initial temp period, additional monies will be added to each paychecks as a supplemental payment to help cover medical benefits.
• This a full-time position, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. Flexible between working in office and working remotely.
Highly successful and fast-paced real estate & development company in North Houston is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to fill a critical and key supporting role as Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist.
Responsibilities:
• Perform ongoing bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries and produce financial statements.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and outstanding balances.
• Perform AP/AR tasks including but not limited to processing bills weekly, entering and printing checks from Quickbooks, creating accurate ledgers, making credit card, ACH and wire payments, adding and managing expenses in Quickbooks, managing bank accounts.
• Collect, manage accounts payable mailbox, log all approved quotes and the payments made against those quotes in filing system in Outlook, Dropbox and spreadsheet, send subcontractor agreements and lien waivers through Docusign.
• Maintain, collect, audit vendor certificates of insurance, W9s, and database of existing and new vendors in Quickbooks.
• Process 1099s and W2s.
• Run payroll, file and pay for payroll taxes.
• Perform general office administrative duties including but not limited to filing, typing, copying, printing, binding, scanning, etc.
• Reply to emails, telephone or face-to-face inquiries swiftly and professionally.
• Complete research as assigned and update staff on researchable items.
• Handle multiple projects as assigned by office management.
• Stay up to date on projects and timelines.
• Ensure office staff and management team remain updated with the latest status of ongoing and completed tasks.
• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and knowledge of operations and job duties.
Education Requirements:
• License(s) in Accounting and/or BA/BS in Accounting..
Experience and Skill Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years experience working as an independent bookkeeper, accounts receivable and accounts payable role.
• Minimum of 1 year in payroll processing and payroll taxes.
• Minimum of 2 year experience in Quickbooks Online.
• Intermediate to advance in Microsoft Excel. Must be comfortable adding and managing formulas, pivot tables and using other advanced features of Excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Adobe, and can easily navigate the internet.
• Must type a minimum of 60 WPM.
• Must be detail oriented and organized and must be able to enter information and manage monies and accounts efficiently and accurately.

• Dependable and punctual.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with ability to multi-task, remain organized and prioritize daily tasks and projects.
• Uses discretion and judgment.
• Has reliable transportation during work hours.
