We are seeking a part time associate attorney to assist with estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters while supporting a warm and professional client experience.
Position Overview
This role offers meaningful client interaction and hands on involvement in estate planning and probate matters. You will participate in reviewing and drafting estate planning and probate / trust administration documents, meeting with prospective and current clients, and strategic planning within a supportive, team oriented environment.
This is an in office position designed for an attorney who values collaboration, mentorship, and consistent integration with the firm’s workflow.
Key Responsibilities
• Draft estate planning documents (i.e. trusts, wills, powers of attorney, ancillary healthcare documents, Deeds, and others as needed)
• Oversee probate matters, including the review of documents prepared by paralegal staff to be filed with the Court and those to be presented to clients and beneficiaries/heirs, appearance at probate hearings, communication with clients
• Collaborate with David Meredith on legal strategy, document review, and case management
• Collaborate with administrative staff and paralegals to manage workflow and support accurate, efficient, and timely advancement of client matters
• Review client estate planning needs and goals while analyzing asset information, estate structures, and planning considerations
• Maintain well organized files while managing a steady caseload of estate planning and probate clients
• Participate in weekly staff meetings to assess case status and collaborate on strategic planning
• Explain the estate planning and probate processes to prospective and existing clients with patience and compassion
• Communicate proactively with clients regarding timelines, expectations, and next steps
• Contribute legal insight to improve processes and client outcomes
• Ensure compliance with Texas law, ethical standards, and firm protocols
• Conduct client meetings to assess planning needs, communicate possible strategies, and explain recommendations
• Conduct legal research for trust and estate matters
Qualifications
• Licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and other jurisdictions where licensed
• 2+ years of experience in estate planning, probate and trust administration (preferred)
• Strong writing, drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously with accuracy and timely follow through
• Thrives working in a collaborative, in office environment

• Able to exercise independent judgment with appropriate supervision
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with CRM and drafting software (we use Clio and WealthDocs)

Work Schedule
• Part time: 20–32 hours per week
• In office presence required several days per week
• Typical office hours: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
