Chamber announces mobile app

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Chamber now has its own app for smartphones. Search “My Chamber App” and choose your current location to pick the Chamber of Commerce you are near or with whom you have a current affiliation. The Woodlands Chamber joined forces with a national supplier which develops cross platform mobile chamber of commerce membership applications for smart phones.

This free app allows virtually anyone to tap into Chambers of Commerce and access their members from across the country. The Woodlands Chamber Members will be located within 16 distinct categories, ranging from Shopping to Health & Public Safety. You can easily click on a category and then select the Chamber Member you wish to view, displaying their business name, address, phone number (with dial-direct), Web site and a Google map link. You can save members to your “favorites” list and even search for the business of your choice.

The App began development last fall and is scheduled to be updated with the most recent Chamber Members in late March. The Woodlands Chamber’s president and CEO Karen Hoylman said, “We anticipate this App to be updated quarterly. This is a new complimentary service that will ultimately benefit all of our members. We are proud to bring new technology and alternate resources to support our Chamber Members.”

“My Chamber App” is currently created for iPhone, Blackberry & Android smart phones.
