The game between The Woodlands and Lufkin has been moved up a day and was picked up to be televised on Fox Sports Southwest and Fox Sports Houston, the networks announced Thursday.

The battle between the Highlanders and Panthers will be played on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. The game is the second of a six-game series the network will show regular-season high school games from across the state. FSN will also televise the UIL football championship games in all classes on Dec. 15-17 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Each time The Woodlands and Lufkin have met since 2004, the winner has won the District 14-5A title. Last year, the Highlanders won 49-33 at Woodforest Stadium.

FSN anchor and the radio voice of the University of Texas, Craig Way, will serve as the play-by-play announcer. He’ll be joined by former Port Arthur Jefferson and Texas A&M standout wide receiver Shea Walker as analyst and Austin sportscaster Leila Rahimi as sideline reporter.
