Baseball: Strykers drop opener 10-9

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Strykers baseball team bowed 10-9 to the Victoria Generals Friday night on Opening Day of the inaugural season in the Texas Collegiate League.
Before a full house at Strykers Field on the campus of The Woodlands Christian Academy the Generals spoiled the party with a one-run victory.
Garrett Lozano had a hit, RBI, and scored three runs while Gabe Fyock added two hits and scored three runs for the Strykers. In addition, Richardo Sanchez reached on a single and scored a run.
Spencer Davis and Derek Wade saw action on the mound for the Strykers, who continue their three-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. Saturday and Sunday against the Brazos Valley Bombers.
