HOUSTON, Texas – Walmart is giving precious time back to Texas shoppers with the launch of five new Walmart Pickup Towers – an innovative service that allows customers to retrieve their online orders in seconds. These bright orange, 16-foot tall Pickup Towers work like a hi-tech vending machine to deliver packages to customers on the spot. This popular customer convenience is part of Walmart’s commitment to lead retail innovation that save customers time and money.

Walmart Pickup Towers are now available in the following locations:

14215 FM 2100, Crosby
3040 College Park Dr, The Woodlands
1710 Broadway St, Pearland
4600 7th St, Bay City
400 Tiney Browning Blvd, Port Lavaca

These five new Pickup Towers add to the more than 145 Towers launched across Texas.

“Our customers say they love how easy the Pickup Towers are to use and appreciate the time they save,” said Nick Berkeley, Walmart vice president and regional general manager. “In 2019, we plan to roll out more Towers and other innovations to make shopping easier and more convenient.”

How Walmart Pickup Towers Work:

Simply choose from millions of items available on Walmart.com and select the “Pickup” option at checkout.
When the item arrives at your local store, an associate loads it into the Pickup Tower and you will receive notification.
When you arrive at the store, step up to the Pickup Tower and scan the barcode sent to your smartphone.

In addition to Pickup Towers, Walmart launched or expanded more customer-focused innovations in locations throughout Texas last year, including:

Grocery Pickup and Grocery Delivery - Texas customers love Walmart’s online grocery pickup option. It gives them the convenience of shopping online and the ease of quickly picking up groceries without having to leave their cars. The best part: It’s all at no additional cost. Grocery Delivery is also proving to be a hit with Texas customers. To use either service, customers shop online or through a mobile browser at Walmart.com/grocery.

Currently more than 305 Texas stores offer grocery pickup, with additional expansion planned for 2019. Grocery delivery is available from 95 stores across the state to add even more convenience to the grocery shopping experience.

Check Out With Me - This past holiday season, Walmart launched a new program called Check Out With Me. Outfitted with cellular devices and Bluetooth printers, associates at all Texas Supercenters can check out customers and provide a receipt, via print, text or email, on the spot.

Dotcom Store App - The Dotcom Store App allows associates to help customers shop via Walmart.com, using a handheld device, when a customer requests an item that is not available in stores or is out of stock. Customers receive either a printed ticket or email/text with a barcode that allows them to pay at any register in-store using any payment method (cash, check, credit/debit and Walmart Pay). This technology is available in all Texas stores.
