HOUSTON, TX -- Investigators with Constable Mark Herman's Emissions Task Force Unit conducted an investigation on AL'Z Auto Inspection, located in the 200 block of West Canino, Houston, Texas in reference to fraudulent vehicle inspections.

AL'Z Auto Inspection, is a licensed state vehicle inspection station that was allegedly conducting fraudulent vehicle inspections by using a procedure called “clean scanning”.

The investigation revealed that AL'Z Auto Inspection employees, Ala Salem, Abedel Jaber and Rogelio Garcia were conducting unlawful fraudulent vehicle inspections using a method referred to as 'clean scanning' allowing them to bypass the emissions portion of the vehicle inspection.

As a result of the investigation, Precinct Four Investigators filed two counts of Tampering with a Governmental Record on Ala Salem, Abedel Jaber and Rogelio Garcia and are currently wanted by law enforcement.

“This type of criminal activity contributes to health threatening pollution. In addition, it affords the opportunity for unsafe vehicles to be driven on a public roadway due to not meeting the minimum safety standards. Illicit money gained from these types of activities is often used to fund other criminal activities.” - Constable Mark Herman
