John Moore Services Launches Seasonal Home Service Giveaways

HOUSTON, TX – John Moore loves Houston. For over 50 years, John Moore vans have traveled the streets of the greater metro area. They have visited thousands of neighborhoods; have been welcomed into many homes; and have met a lot of amazing people. As a local, family-owned business, they can’t help but want to give back to the town and people that mean so much to the company. Starting this year, John Moore Services will be soliciting stories from the community to help identify and surprise deserving Houston individuals or families with free home services.

Nominations are being accepted for Greater Houston individuals and families in need of home service repairs, replacements or renovations.


“A healthier home makes for a happier living environment and everyone deserves to have a good roof over their head. Helping our fellow neighbors is what we do daily and is part of our DNA,” said Don Valentine, owner, John Moore Services. “Houston is our hometown and we want to touch as many people as we can, but we can’t do it on our own. We are asking Houstonians to help us find the individuals and families who need our help the most.”

John Moore Services wants to help individuals and families who are still struggling to rebuild from Hurricane Imelda and Hurricane Harvey. As temperatures begin to rise, the Houston elderly community will be at risk for heat-related illnesses and deaths due to older AC equipment, and the John Moore family can help repair or install a brand-new, state-of-the-art HVAC system. The team is also interested in hearing from Houstonians who might be down on their luck and just need a renovation to brighten their lives. No need is too big or too small.

To nominate an individual or family in the Greater Houston Area, the community can submit a story explaining the nominee’s situation and include images via https://www.johnmooreservices.com/quarterly-giveaway/. Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis, with no deadlines for submissions.

A deserving individual or family will be selected each spring, summer, fall and winter. Once selected, the person who nominated the individual or family will be contacted to schedule a surprise home service with the winner. The home service, which can be a repair, replacement or renovation, will be conducted at no charge.

Since 1965, John Moore Services has donated countless hours and resources to give back to the community. Helping people is at the core of the company’s mission. They have partnered with nonprofits and organizations such as Texas Children’s Hospital to deliver over 100 handmade Easter baskets to kids battling cancer and supported veterans with PTSD through donations to Camp Hope. They have fostered an ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity to install plumbing systems for new homes. Additionally, a team of technicians and plumbers rebuilt a veteran’s home after Hurricane Harvey. The company has hosted numerous blood and toy drives throughout the year encouraging employees, friends and families to join in their mission to providing a helping hand. The seasonal home giveaways will be John Moore Services first community initiative where the company asks for stories of individuals and families in need.
