THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Free COVID-19 Testing at Township Town Hall—NEW HOURS
The Woodlands Township is a host location for free COVID-19 testing performed by COVID-19 testing company, Curative, Inc. The walk-up testing will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. The Woodlands, TX 77381 until future notice. County News
Montgomery County COVID-19 Case Count November 12, 2020
Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, can sadly confirm two additional deaths related to COVID-19.


• A woman in her 80s, from Magnolia, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

• A woman in her 80s, from Spring, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

Your patience and understanding is appreciated during the transition to the Texas Health Trace database. The following update includes cases they have added since 11/5/2020.


• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 513 to 14,793 since last Thursday’s (11/5) report. All 513 new cases were tested in the month of November.

• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 increased by 271 to 2,279 since last Thursday’s (11/5) report. An additional 225 cases have been marked as “inactive” since they have been unable to contact them for more than 30 days.

• 31 residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

• 9,271 people have clinically recovered. Some of the recovery data is unavailable at this time due to the database transition.

Harris County Public Health (HCPH) publishes their daily case count, combined with the City of Houston's daily case count, here. Cases by zip code in Harris County can be found by clicking on areas of the map.

The Village of Creekside Park is located in two zip codes: 77375 and 77389, and these also include Magnolia, Augusta Pines/Auburn Lakes/West Rayford Road in northwest Harris County. Today, Harris County is reporting zip code 77375 has 1,490 confirmed positive cases with 163 active cases, and 77389 has 773 confirmed positive cases with 72 active cases.

State and National News
Community Use of Cloth Masks for SARS-CoV-2
SARS-CoV-2 infection is transmitted predominately by respiratory droplets generated when people cough, sneeze, sing, talk, or breathe. CDC recommends community use of masks, specifically non-valved multi-layer cloth masks, to prevent transmission of SARS-CoV-2.

Masks are primarily intended to reduce the emission of virus-laden droplets, which is especially relevant for asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic infected wearers who feel well and may be unaware of their infectiousness to others, and who are estimated to account for more than 50% of transmissions. Masks also help reduce inhalation of these droplets by the wearer.

The community benefit of masking for SARS-CoV-2 control is due to the combination of these effects; individual prevention benefit increases with increasing numbers of people using masks consistently and correctly. Read the full article from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

State of Texas Prepared to Distribute COVID-19 Treatments
Governor Greg Abbott announced November 10, 2020, that the State of Texas has prepared allocation plans to swiftly distribute medicines and vaccines that are now becoming available to treat COVID-19. November 9, 2020 was the first day of what will be many announcements in the coming weeks about the availability of medicines and vaccines to combat COVID-19. Read the full press release.

Governor Renews State of Disaster Declaration for COVID-19
On Friday, November 6, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott renewed the State Disaster Declaration for COVID-19 in November 2020 for all counties in Texas. ­­View the Proclamation.

Community Help Expo: Navigating Behavior Health and Suicide
The Community Help Expo is designed to bring awareness to mental health issues while also connecting the citizens of Montgomery County to their local mental health resources. The expo is set for today, November 12, 2020 from 1 to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center in Conroe (9055 Airport Road). The expo will feature presentations, panel discussions, keynote speaker Kevin Hines and an art exhibit. Register in advance for in-person or virtual attendance.
