THE WOODLANDS, TX - The club wrapped up their 9th annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with a player education session at Lents Family Park while also recognizing the volunteers, parents, players and coaching staff that made the program such a success.

A check also was presented for $10,000 to the Memorial Hermann Foundation working alongside In The Pink of Health which is celebrating its 20th year. The program events were sponsored by Hunter Family Orthodontics.

This club fundraising initiative was started in 2012 to strengthen the Girls Academy Program to off-set annual program costs while also providing support for a local charity. Raising awareness and donations for this great cause aligns with our core value of Service.

The club would like to recognize the internal committee members: Yessenia Pirir (The Woodlands), Trina Engels (The Woodlands), Michelle Gionnatti (The Woodlands), Fran Shannon (Kingwood), Darien Morgan (South), Emily Faircloth (Beaumont) and Brooke Gemmell (graphic design).

'Breast cancer affects so many people including members of our family, our club, and our good friends. I love that Dynamo | Dash young athletes are not only being taught to be aware of the illness but how they can help and serve others through their fundraising efforts. This year was especially hard for all non-profit organizations and it is very satisfying to know how much their efforts will be appreciated by so many women who can't afford treatment. Go Dash, Go Pink, Go Together!' - Trina Engels, Committee Member / Parent

'The breast cancer awareness campaign that Dash is a part of is important to me because we are showing support to the many affected by breast cancer. We as a club want to do our part and raise awareness to help find a cure.' - Danielle Shannon, GA Player

The commitment of these young athletes towards helping those struggling with ovarian and breast cancer is truly amazing. Statistics show that many of these young women will be faced with a loved one battling these diseases in their lifetime and it is so encouraging to witness their compassion and support at such a young age. We are all in this together and we are so grateful for this continued partnership with the Houston Dynamo | Dash.” - In the Pink of Health 2020-21 co-chairs Dee Gelsomini & Debra Cooper

“It is such an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with the Dynamo | Dash Youth Soccer Club. They do a fantastic job of raising awareness throughout the month of October in our community. My mother is fortunately a breast cancer survivor, so it brings me great joy to see all the pink shirts being worn by the athletes, knowing that some of the proceeds go towards finding a cure!” - Dr. Ross Hunter, Hunter Family Orthodontics
