MAGNOLIA, TX - On Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Montgomery County Commissioners Court, a proclamation will be made to announce this day as “Joe Haliti Day”. This is being done to honor Joe Haliti, the owner of Joe’s Italian Restaurant, for his unwavering service towards the community of Montgomery County by providing over 50,437 meals for teachers, front line workers and those in Onalaska who endured the EF-3 tornado that passed through that area this past year. Joe’s selfless response originated after witnessing what COVID-19 was doing to his family in Italy. He recognized that the virus was going to gain a grip on the world. He made the decision to put the needs of others first. Doing what he does best. Serving others with great food and great service. “Joe’s a dedicated man who found a way to support and lift up the individuals who spend their time protecting the population that they serve. His efforts helped to reduce the risk of exposure for these individuals”, states Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley.

The proclamation will be read by Commissioner Charlie Riley along with the presentation of a plaque.
