DPS Seeks Public’s Help on Hit-and-Run on IH-45 In The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the public's help in the investigation of a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the critical condition of Austin Ard on IH-45 in Montgomery County. The cash occurred on Friday, June 11 at approximately 9:10 p.m.

Preliminary investigation indicates a White Chevrolet or GMC work van struck Ard while he was standing outside his vehicle which was parked on the southbound shoulder of IH-45 just north of Rayford/Sawdust. The driver of the work van failed to stop and Ard is in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Woodlands. The pictures above are evidence from the scene. The suspect vehicle will have damage to the front right and a missing front right side mirror.
