HS Basketball: College Park Unconquered in 13-6A District
THE WOODLANDS, TX – In the final game of the season, College Park was already the number one seed in the 13-6A district but perfection was in the distance. Grand Oaks was the obstacle standing in their way of finishing off with an undefeated record.
Right off the tipoff, Grand Oaks came out aggressive in their typical defense, pressuring the shooter to make mistakes so they can steal the ball. Turnover specialist, Joshua Neal (#10) did exactly that, resulting in Elijah Augustine (#25) hammering it down at the other end. Unfortunately for Grand Oaks, this was short lived as College Park warmed up and started to dominate the boards on offense. But it was defense where they were the most effective; stopping the attacks by Grand Oaks and smothering anyone with the ball. Before the halftime buzzer, the Cavalier’s offense lit up and crashed the boards outscoring the Grizzlies 35 to 17.
College Park leads after 1.

In the second half, College Park kept up the pressure and momentum. Grand Oaks struggled to get past the Cavalier defense but was able to score a solid 15 points in the 3rd. College Park kept their lead throughout the game and only increased their lead as the game progressed. They need to keep the speed and momentum in the playoffs because Texas has a stacked list of amazing teams. The 13-6A district is tough but going out past the area, teams are built to win. College Park and Grand Oaks will both advance to the playoffs facing teams in the area next week. Final score 67-42.
And College Park stays undefeated in district!
