Library Events in The Woodlands – September 28 - October 3, 2026

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The George & Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library and Kevin Brady Library have several programs and activities planned for the week of September 28 through October 3, 2026. From storytimes and crafts to games, technology programs, book discussions and a Shakespeare performance, there is something for all ages.

Monday, September 28

Preschooler Storytime | 9:15–9:45 a.m. & 10–10:30 a.m.
Preschooler Storytime is designed for children ages 3 and up who are ready to practice listening, sitting or standing still, and self-control while enjoying stories with a storyteller.

Tuesday, September 29

Toddler Storytime | 9:15–9:45 a.m. & 10–10:30 a.m.
Toddler Storytime introduces children ages 18 months to 3 years to books with simple language and predictable plots while helping them learn storytime manners. The program lasts about 25 minutes.

Mandarin Mah Jongg – Intermediate Level | 12:30–3:30 p.m.
Designed for players who already know the basic rules and tile sets. Participants can practice building special hands, explore additional strategies and enjoy interactive play. Registration is required by calling (936) 522-2697.

Cricut Venture Orientation | 3–4 p.m.
Adults ages 19 and up can learn how to use the Cricut Venture to create personalized projects using a variety of materials. The orientation covers the Cricut, Design Space and best practices. Completion of the orientation is required before booking time on the Cricut Venture at the Kevin Brady Library Innovation Lab. Participants must provide their own Cricut Smart Supplies to book the Venture. Registration is required. The class will be held in the computer lab. Children ages 13–18 must be accompanied by an adult during orientations and appointments.

Wednesday, September 30

Baby & Me Storytime | 9:15–9:45 a.m. & 10–10:30 a.m.
Baby & Me Storytime focuses on nursery rhymes and movement for babies under 18 months and their seated siblings. Caregivers are encouraged to actively participate. Each session is approximately 25 minutes.

Podcast Studio Orientation | 1–2 p.m.
Learn how to use the Kevin Brady Library Podcast Studio, including professional recording equipment, studio policies, best practices and tips for bringing creative ideas to life. Registration is required, and the orientation must be completed before reserving studio time. The class will be held in the computer lab.

Saturday, October 3

LWV Voter Information | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County will provide free voter education, registration assistance and information about the voting process. Volunteers will be available to answer questions. Voters must be registered by October 5 to vote in the November 3, 2026 election.

Merry Wives of Windsor with Points North Theatre | 6:30–8 p.m.
Enjoy an encore performance of Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor at the Cathy Brady Ballroom. The comedy follows Sir John Falstaff as he attempts to woo two wealthy Windsor housewives, only to be tricked and humiliated. The performance is presented in partnership with Points North Theatre Company, Montgomery County Precinct 3 and the Kevin Brady Library. For All Ages

Teen Craft: Spooky Season Paint By Numbers | Time not provided
Teens ages 12–18 can enjoy a spooky-season-themed paint-by-number activity. Paint supplies and snacks are provided. Registration is required.

Preschool Storytime | 9:30–10 a.m. & 10:30–11 a.m.
This story program is designed for preschoolers ages 3–5 and their caregivers, with a focus on building early literacy skills through stories, songs and movement. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate.

Wednesday, September 30

Toddler Storytime | 9:30–10 a.m. & 10:30–11 a.m.
Designed for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers, this program uses stories, rhymes and songs to build early literacy skills. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate.

Thursday, October 1

Brain Benders | 10–11 a.m.
Children ages 6–11 can enjoy an hour of fun activities designed to build critical-thinking and logic skills. Activities may include puzzles, games, Legos, mini-mysteries, mind benders, jokes and riddles.

October Book Discussion – The Librarians | 1–3 p.m.
Join the library for a discussion of The Librarians by Sherry Thomas, a contemporary mystery featuring four librarians whose lives are disrupted by murder. The discussion will be held in Community Room 102.

Saturday, October 3

Family Movie: The Pirates | 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Families can enjoy a free afternoon movie in the Mitchell Library's Large Meeting Room. Snacks will be provided. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
