THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) in The Woodlands, Texas is excited to celebrate its ninth graduation ceremony at the end of this school year. Legacy Prep has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian of their 2022 graduating class. Carson Keyes has been named valedictorian and Hannah Homeyer has been named salutatorian.

Carson Keyes is graduating as valedictorian. He has attended Legacy Prep for eight years. Keyes has been involved in the cross-country team, track team, swim team, FOIL theater arts, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, and National Honor Society. He will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall.

“I will miss the people from Legacy the most. The instructors, professors, coaches, and administration pour into the students and make them feel valued, providing them with confidence and courage,” stated Keyes.

Keyes received an academic scholarship from Texas A&M University. He plans to attend the school of biomedical science and work towards earning a doctorate degree.

Keyes added, “I firmly believe in allowing the light of Christ to shine through my actions, attitude, and relationships with others. My desire is to live entirely for the Lord, allowing Him to be glorified in all of my accomplishments. 1 Corinthians 15:58 states, ‘Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.’”

According to Legacy Prep High School Principal Shannon Jones, “Carson is a remarkable young man that has been instrumental to our high school for the last 4 years. He is the student body president, has led multiple service projects on campus, and has been an outstanding leader to his peers. Carson has been recognized on campus as a high achiever in multiple roles. He has already done great things, and I cannot wait to see what his future holds.”

Hannah Homeyer is graduating as salutatorian and has attended Legacy Prep for five years. She will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall to study biomedical science. Homeyer has participated in Legacy Prep’s National Honor Society and Student Council.

“I feel that my time at Legacy has helped me develop a strong faith in the Lord and a love for serving others. I will do my best to serve and love those around me in all that I do to show others the love and mercy that God gives to us,” shared Homeyer.

Principal Jones commented, “Hannah is an amazing young lady, beautiful inside and out. She has a heart for service, and it shows. You can always count on her to be there and get the job done. With her intelligence, beautiful heart and love for the Lord, Hannah will be successful in whatever she puts her mind to.”

Homeyer explained, “The most important thing I feel I have gained from Legacy is the skill of time management. Because of Legacy's university model and the unique benefits it offers, I feel like I have been fully prepared for the independent study and time management expectations of college.”

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates collegeworthy, character witnesses for Christ.

With enrollment and interest in Legacy Prep continuing to grow, the school is excited to begin its 18th year in the fall.
