Parati Competitive Rowing Brings Home Multiple State Championship Trophies
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Parati traveled to the Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir in Waco for the Texas Rowing Championships, medaling in 7 of their 11 events and winning State Championship Trophies in 4. This is the first time rowers have been able to race a 2k in Texas, an exciting upgrade to racing opportunities in our state.
Young Team Continues Parati's Tradition of Excellence
Winning 2 State titles was Juliet Bohn, first in the Women's U17 1x and again with Abby Yacoub in the Women's U17 2x. Jay Kirk trounced the competition to win the Men's U17 1x by almost 30 seconds. Patrick McKenna and Armaan Deora raced to gold in the Men's Novice 2x, annihilating 2 crews from The Rowing Club of the Woodlands with open water by 44 seconds.
Parati had 2 novice rowers win silver medals while competing in the Varsity Division, an amazing accomplishment as these athletes have been rowing for less than a year. Patrick McKenna took silver in the very competitive Men's 1x event, and Ava Andrews narrowly missed gold in the Women's 1x. Also earning a silver medal was the Parati Women's Novice 4+.
Parati travels to OKC on May 6 & 7 to race at the Central Youth Championships where they expect to qualify multiple crews to the invitation only Youth Nationals held in Sarasota, Florida in June.
