There has been a substantial increase in area power outages; residents are encouraged to maintain energy conservation. Precinct 3 crews have winterized all roads and bridges.

DO NOT get out on the roads unless you absolutely have to. We are not climbing much above freezing today, and with the sunny conditions the ice will melt in the daytime sun only to hard freeze again this evening when temperatures plummet. Precinct 3 Commissioner's Office Crews and TxDOT worked for a third night in a row treating roads to minimize icy conditions as much as possible. No treatment is absolute and drivers are urged to use caution if you must travel.

All schools are closed today. Non-essential county offices are closed today as well. Please help our first responders who worked more than 85 crashes yesterday by staying off the roadways and at home.

• Revised Waste Management trash pickup – Due to incomplete service routes on Monday and the cancellation of collection on Tuesday, residential collection services for the remainder of the week will occur as follows: Tuesday service will collect on Wednesday; incomplete Monday service will collect on Thursday; Wednesday service will collect on Thursday; Thursday service will collect on Friday; Friday service will collect on Saturday. If you have Monday service and did not receive service today, please put away your container bins. If you have Tuesday service, please do not place your container bins curbside until Wednesday.

• The Precinct 3 Recycling Facility will be closed Tuesday due to the subfreezing temperatures expected to last through midday Wednesday.

• The Woodlands Township will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to the ongoing winter weather conditions. All Township offices and facilities will be closed. - Riva Row Boat House, Lakes Edge Boat House and Texas TreeVentures will remain closed. - Both The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park and The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park will remain closed.
