There’s so much going on this week – thanks to summer break from school as well as some amazing businesses throughout The Woodlands area – that you’ll find our Top 5 list is a little, well, more filled than usual. Check out some of these incredible events!

All Week, June 3 - 9
Bring your little dancers to the two-week Texas Academy of Dance Arts TADA summer ballet intensive. Their annual event is curated to enrich the training of serious ballet students by offering appropriate and challenging instruction according to level. This cross-disciplinary intensive will focus primarily on various forms of conditioning and stretch, ballet technique, repertoire, and pointe/variations for advanced students, along with classes in contemporary, modern, Broadway, and more. Plus, amazing scholarship giveaways and an in-house performance at the end of the intensive for two-week attendees. One-week options are available; however, please note the two-week eligibility requirements for final day performance and scholarships. Classes are for experienced dancers ages 7 and up, split into four levels by ability.

Tuesday, June 4
The Woodlands Behavioral Health & Wellness Center is presenting Social Skills Support Groups that focus on building developmentally appropriate skills-based exercises that will help children who have learning differences, attentional issues, and/or are on the autism spectrum who also have anxiety issues, mood disorders and/or social struggles. Through interactive activities, role-playing, and guided discussions, they foster effective communication, active listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills. They will gain the confidence and social competence needed to navigate friendships, school, and beyond.

Friday, June 7
Now that summer break is in full spring, the entire family can experience the thrill of winning together at The Woodlands Township’s monthly Family Bingo Night. Join the fun at Rob Fleming Recreation Center for an evening of fun, laughter, and fantastic prizes suitable for all ages. Preregistration is highly recommended, as this event often sells out. For our fifth foray into the top 5, we crammed an entire week’s worth of entertainment into one listing. It’s time for that wonderful, wine-filled Woodlands annual event, Wine & Food Week. Each day, there is an exciting – and lip-smacking – opportunity to enjoy food, wine, and company. The fun starts off with the Aruba Fusion Stretch, Sip and Savor on Wednesday in Market Street Central Park with Aruba’s premier Yogi Master Shanti. Stretch your body and senses with yoga and guided meditation. Then, roll up your commemorative mat (which you get to keep) and join Chef Urvin Croes of Aruba’s premier restaurant Infini who is preparing a Caribbean Breakfast Bowl to savor. Enjoy a tropical fruit & yogurt smoothie, topped with pitaya, bananas, mangoes, pineapple, shaved coconut, granola, cashew nuts, chia seeds and chocolate chips, followed by fresh-brewed coffee and an organic line of sparkling and still selections that will be served by Candoni.
Aruba Fusion Stretch

Next up on Wednesday is the Wine Around the World Tour. No passport required. Just bring along your tastebuds and a friend, for this international wine-tasting experience. In this wine-hopping excursion you will meet with knowledgeable wine experts who will be on hand to walk you through the wines exploring the wine industry in the country of origin. Each winery will have their own room and you will rotate from room to room at specific intervals.

On Friday, come to the Club at Carlton Woods Main Clubhouse for the Ladies of the Vine Tasting, Panel, & Luncheon. Join the bright women of the wine world sharing their complex talents and in an unfiltered panel discussion with an intimate glimpse on their personal journey with wine, including Monique Studak, Principal at Thirst For Knowledge as she leads an awesome ‘Femm-Somm’ panel of female master sommeliers, wine director, and winery owner who share their personal journey with wine as they speak to their pairings. Rub elbows with Wine & Food Week special guests, celebrities, media, and food judges throughout the evening. Plus culinary offerings from 35 restaurants competing to be the winner of the Chef of Chefs Culinary Awards presented by Goya Foods, as voted by an esteemed panel of judges.
VIP Luxury Lounge

Wine & Food Week is capped off Saturday evening with the Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. The showcase presents guests with the opportunity to slip into their finest attire and be in the company of serious wine enthusiasts and outstanding culinary talent. After the official kick-off toast at 6:45 p.m., guests enter the grand ballroom open to enjoy an around-the-world experience through their taste buds. At the closing ceremony, the winner of the Chef of Chefs Culinary Awards will take home the Waterford Crystal Chef of Chefs trophy and a $5,000 cash prize.
