Conroe ISD Breaks Ground on School in Evergreen
CONROE, TX -- Conroe Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null, other school officials, members of the Lake Conroe/Conroe Chamber of Commerce and representatives from Evergreen were on hand in the community June 13 for the groundbreaking of a new elementary school in the community.
At 150,000 square feet, the school is designed to serve a maximum of 950 students. Early plans call for the school to house grades kindergarten through sixth, although that won’t be finalized until zoning is complete later this year. The school is anticipated to open for the 2025-2026 school year.
“We’re excited to bring the convenience of an onsite school to our growing number of residents,” said Keith Luechtefeld, Houston Division President for Shea Homes, developer of Evergreen. “It won’t be long before there will be parents walking their children to school and enjoying the other benefits of an onsite campus.”
Campbell Elementary is one of eight new schools funded through a $1.9 billion bond referendum passed last November. In addition to the eight new schools, the bond includes expansions and renovations at several existing campuses and $40 million for technology enhancements and the purchase of devices such as iPads, laptops and desktop computers.
Also underway in Evergreen is The Arbor, a $10 million amenity village on 8.7 acres. The Arbor will feature the Forest Shores resort-style pool with tanning ledges and multiple depths. The recreation center will have a fireside nook and indoor and outdoor lounge areas. The event lawn will be available for impromptu resident use and events planned by the community lifestyle director. Gully’s Splash Pad and a playground at Tree House Park will be tucked under a canopy of trees. Pickleball courts are also planned for when The Arbor opens in early 2025.
Builders Shea Homes, Perry Homes and Chesmar Homes offer homes priced from the $300,000s to the $800,000s in Evergreen. The community is planned for approximately 2,000 homes at build-out. Learn more about Evergreen at www.evergreen-texas.com.
