CONROE, TX -- On Thursday morning, the Montgomery County Fire Marshal accompanied City of Conroe Building Officials and the City of Conroe Fire Marshal’s Office during an inspection of Calfee Middle School. All of the essential fire protection and life safety systems are operational and are compliant with both the City of Conroe and Montgomery County Fire Codes.

As the property is in an unincorporated area at this time, State Law requires that the County Fire Marshal issue a Certificate of Compliance with the County Fire Code prior to occupancy of the building. That certificate has been sent to Willis ISD this afternoon.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office reviews construction plans during the building process, insuring that all new and renovated buildings meet the life safety requirements found in the Montgomery County Fire Code. After they are built and occupied, MCFMO Fire Inspectors work closely with building occupants and management teams to protect the lives of our residents and the firefighters who would respond in the event of a fire.
