Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest in Retail Theft Spree in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On August 27, 2025, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office South Patrol were alerted to a shoplifting incident at The Woodlands Mall. It was reported that a male suspect had been stealing high-end athletic apparel from the same store over the past month. During their investigation, deputies identified the suspect as David Dupree, a resident of The Woodlands, TX.

On September 4, 2025, deputies executed a search warrant at Dupree's residence, where they recovered narcotics and suspected stolen merchandise. Dupree was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and booked on charges of possession of marijuana and Theft under $2,500. After it was discovered Dupree had previously been convicted of Theft six prior times, his Misdemeanor Theft charges were enhanced to Felony charges.
