The Woodlands ownship partners with AARP
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township, in partnership with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Foundation Tax-Aide, is hosting a FREE tax preparation assistance at The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive, now through April 7, 2026. Tax-Aide assistance is offered free of charge, with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 with low to moderate income.
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will prepare returns utilizing a drop-off service. Clients will meet with a certified volunteer to review their documents and return at another date to retrieve and sign their tax return, which will be filed electronically. Tax-Aide volunteers are trained and IRS-certified annually to ensure that they are current on all IRS requirements and changes to the tax code. Tax-Aide service in The Woodlands will be available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please fill out the online form. Appointments will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and will only be available in two-week increments.
