Poll position – Woodlands Online’s primer for early voting, candidate forums
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Early voting for the March primary elections started at 7:00 this morning and will run through Friday, February 27. During the early voting period, any qualified Montgomery County registered voter may vote at any one of the Montgomery County early voting locations:
- North Montgomery County Community Center – 600 Gerald Street, Willis 77378 – Meador Room
- Lone Star Community Center – 2500 Lone Star Parkway, Montgomery 77356 – Cissy Boulware Room
- West Montgomery County Community Development Center – 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia 77355 – Green Room
- East Montgomery County Fair Association Building – 21675A McCleskey Road, New Caney 77357 – Main Room
- Magnolia Event Center Annex – 11731 FM 1488, Magnolia 77354 – Main Room
- Central Library – 104 I-45 North, Conroe 77301 – Large Meeting Room
- George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library – 8125 Ashlane Way, The Woodlands 77382 – Meeting Room 101 and 102
- Kevin Brady Library and Community Center – 2250 Buckthorne Pl, Spring 77380 – 117B, C - Cathy Brady Ballroom

From today through Friday, February 20, polls will be open 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; on Saturday, February 21, they will be open 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; on Sunday, February 22 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; and from Monday, February 23 - Friday, February 27, polls will be open 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
As long as you are in line by the time the polls are scheduled to close, you will be allowed to vote. You must present a valid ID in order to cast your ballot in either the Republican or Democrat Party primary election. Texas voters do not register for a party, and there is no straight-ticket voting. All phones and electronic devices must be turned off once entering the polling building, though written and printed materials may be brought in, read, and used in consideration of your decisions. No politically based clothing of any kind is permitted. Electioneering is prohibited within 100 feet of the front entrance of the polling building; however, Woodlands Online encourages you to engage any candidates outside the area to be as informed as possible when casting your ballots.
Special Forms of Early Voting and Ballot by Mail are available only at Election Central, 9159 Airport Road, Conroe 77303 in the Foyer.
On Thursday, February 19, at 9:00 a.m., The Woodlands Economic Development Partnership will be hosting a forum / debate for the four GOP candidates for Congressional District 2, including Dan Crenshaw, Steve Toth, Nicholas Plumb, and Martin Etwop. Like Tuesday’s event, the forum will be co-moderated by Woodlands Online’s news editor Sean K. Thompson and Community Impact’s general manager.
