MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Throughout the weekend Officers, Deputies and State Troopers worked proactively to ensure that our businesses, communities and streets remained safe during a historically volatile weekend of festivities. We thank the organizers of the Lone Star Throwdown (LST) for their cooperation and help in getting the word out to their vendors, competitors and the event attendees about our mutual desire for all to enjoy a weekend in the company of other car/truck enthusiasts while not crossing the line into criminal behavior. This event is about appreciating the beauty of cars and trucks, appreciating the power they have, learning from each other the techniques to enhance vehicles beyond the showroom floor, all while remaining safe and responsible.

Each night, over 125 Law Enforcement professionals from agencies across the Montgomery County, Harris County and Walker County areas worked cooperatively to ensure the after parties and meet up events respected the wishes of property owners and businesses and remained nonviolent for all in attendance. For those choosing to cross the line and venture into illegal conduct putting innocent people at risk- Law Enforcement was swift to step in and take action.

As a result of the combined efforts of all agencies involved- we are happy to announce there were no fatal accidents caused by illegal street racing, exhibition of speed, burnouts and other episodes of criminally negligent operations of motor vehicles during this weekend’s event. Regardless of the efforts made by our Law Enforcement Officers, there were those who ventured across the line and were held responsible for their actions resulting in 90 arrests for criminal charges including:

-DWI [16]
-Racing [13]
-Narcotics [28]
-Retaliation [1]
-Resisting Arrest [3]
-Reckless Driving [15]
-Weapons Charges [13]
-Interfere with Public Duties [3]
-Agg. Assault on Public Servant [1]
-Evading Arrest in Motor Vehicle [2]

The Best Stat of the Weekend: ZERO fatal accidents related to street racing or exhibitions of speed.

Thank you to the Officers, Deputies, and Troopers who worked through the night to ensure our streets remained safe. To the organizers and the majority of attendees who kept it respectful: Thank you for keeping the "show" in the showroom and not on the public streets.
