SPRING, TX -- North Houston’s dynamic business and lifestyle hub City Place has signed a lease with Tony’s Italian Delicatessen, the viral, critically acclaimed sandwich shop known for world class subs and a devoted following. The nearly 2,000-square-foot deli will open on the ground floor of City Place 1 (1700 City Plaza Drive), with a public debut anticipated in late summer.

Built on authentic Italian flavors, generous portions and family-style hospitality, Tony’s has earned national attention — being named to Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. list multiple times, garnering as high as the #1 spot and currently sitting at #4 – and is a regular on best sandwich and deli spot rankings in the city and state. The brand currently operates successful locations in Tomball and Montgomery; the City Place outpost positions the deli within immediate reach of more than 20,000 employees and residents who live and work in the district.

Known for its stuffed end-to-end “Carnegie” sandwiches — named after beloved Italian American icons — Tony’s has become a destination for indulgent handhelds served on its signature Italian rolls.

“We are thrilled to add Tony’s Italian Deli to the City Place tenant mix,” said Andrew Giammalva, Vice President of CDC Houston. “Their strong reputation and loyal following are a testament to their high-quality sandwiches, and they bring exactly the kind of energy we want in the community.”

Menu standouts include the Stallone layered with capicola, sopressata, ham and salami; the award-winning Sophia featuring roasted turkey and pesto mayo; and the Pacino, a fan favorite with mortadella, bacon and provolone, each doused with their famous sub oil. Soups, salads, and vegetarian options round out the offerings. An excellent gluten-free bread option is also available.

Tony’s dessert program is also notable, featuring classics such as Limoncello cake, espresso-soaked tiramisu, fresh cannoli and the deli’s well-known three-to-a-bag homemade snickerdoodles — easy midday treats and a certain office crowd-pleaser.

“We are grateful to be part of the City Place community,” said Lori Hutchison, owner of Tony’s Italian Deli. “We feel incredibly blessed by the path that brought us here, and working with the team at City Place has been a wonderful experience. They have a clear vision and truly stand behind their development.”

The lease transaction was brokered by Lindsey McKean of SHOP Companies and Zac Warren of Winthrop Realty Group.
