As we recover from a wet weekend, there will be a couple of dry days on either side of a stormy Wednesday, but nothing that should keep you away from any number of the fun events happening around The Woodlands. Here’s a sample of what you can try!


Monday, March 9
Get ready for The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Arts Break – five days of free, fun arts performances in The Pavilion’s Event Center during Spring Break. Arts Break shows are the perfect out-of-the-house event and – with a morning and afternoon performance each day – they fit every schedule. These shows are completely free and no registration is required. Today’s fun will be featuring live band Melvin Johnson & The Electro-Akoustic – this high-energy performance by the Houston-based dance group explores the relationship between percussion and dance across cultures.

Monday, March 9
Spring Break fun is happening at Magnolia Soap & Bath Co! Join them for a hands-on Bath Bomb + Shower Steamer Class . This is perfect for kids, teens, parents, and even teachers needing a little self-care. While you’re there, don’t forget to check out their all-week drop-in stations,

Tuesday, March 10
From 10 a.m. - 12 noon at The Woodlands Children’s Museum, enjoy Safety Day with the Woodlands Township. Learn about public safety and other ways to keep your family safe at this hands-on safety fair. Come explore a police vehicle, fire truck, and ambulance, and talk with the people who keep us safe. Additional organizations will share information and giveaways on water, bicycle, and pedestrian safety. Inside bee amazed by The Bee Lady presentations. Included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion's Arts Break continues – five days of free, fun arts performances in The Pavilion’s Event Center during Spring Break! Today, enjoy Great Works Theatre: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. Based on the award-winning children’s book, audiences can now hop on board for an unforgettable ride featuring the talented artists of Great Works Theatre from Chicago. Learn about metamorphosis, pollination, ocean food chains, arthropods, and more! With hilarious songs, dazzling animations, and accurate science, Lucas Miller’s multimedia program will keep kids of all ages engaged and learning.

Enjoy an afternoon at the 2nd Annual Spicy Tails Art Sale, featuring live Zydeco music, local vendors selling original artwork, children’s activities, a youth art contest, crawfish cook-off, and more. Think you have the best boiled crawfish in town? Put your skills to the test and enter your cooking team into the Spicy Tails Art Sale Crawfish Cook-Off. Teams will be awarded for People’s Choice, Best Crawfish, Best Decorated Booth, and Best Cajun Dish.

It’s time for the 19th Annual Creekwood Fishing Derby at Creekwood Park and Pond. Admission is free and registration isn’t required. Bring your fishing poles and they’ll provide the bait. T-shirts are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Prizes will be awarded for the longest, heaviest and smallest fish caught. Sponsored by The Woodlands Professional Firefighters

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Ale & Ivy at their St. Patrick’s Day Parking Lot Party. This family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day event is packed with live entertainment, festive food and drinks, and activities for all ages.
