CONROE, TX -- This April, Downtown Conroe becomes a celebration of storytelling — on screen and on the streets.

The Greater Conroe Film Festival returns to the Owen Theatre for the 3rd year, on Saturday and Sunday, April 11–12, bringing with it an exciting mix of filmmakers, artists, and audiences ready to experience powerful stories together.

During the Film Festival we are inviting our community to enjoy a curated lineup of films that includes family-friendly features, award-winning selections, world premieres, compelling documentaries, and creative short films. Whether you’re a lifelong film enthusiast or simply looking for something meaningful and different to do for the weekend, the festival offers a chance to experience cinema in a way that feels personal and community-driven.

Tickets are just $15 per film block, with full-day and weekend passes available at greaterconroeartsalliance.com.

But the celebration doesn’t stop when the credits roll.

Just steps from the theatre, visitors can take part in a free self-guided walking tour featuring 13 newly restored art benches and a vibrant mural installation throughout the heart of Downtown Conroe. Each piece reflects the history, heritage, and stories of Conroe and Montgomery County.

We invite you to stop by the Owen Theatre to pick up tour information before exploring the benches downtown.

The weekend is also an opportunity to support the broader local arts scene. Downtown restaurants, boutiques, and antique shops will be open and welcoming visitors, while the Conroe Art League at Madeley Fine Art Gallery invites guests to experience even more local creativity.

The Greater Conroe Film Festival is more than a movie event, it’s a reminder that art connects communities. Film tells our stories. Community art honors our history. Local businesses are the heart of our community.

For one weekend in April, it all comes together in Downtown Conroe.
