Expert witness testimony by A Strong CPA’s Jennifer Wertz Supports Appellate Court Ruling

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Jennifer Wertz, CPA, Shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of A Strong CPA, provided expert testimony in a court case that resulted in a favorable ruling for her client. The original case was appealed and recently, the Ninth Court of Appeals issued their opinion which relied heavily on her analysis and testimony. Based on her witness testimony, the appellate court upheld the original judgement of the trial court.

The case involved a significant federal tax liability arising from a divorce decree. Wertz conducted a detailed analysis of the parties’ tax returns and the terms of the decree to determine each party’s respective share of the liability. The appellate court confirmed the trial court’s judgement, finding that her analysis and testimony were both persuasive and accurate.

Wertz brings nearly thirty-one years of public accounting experience to her role. Prior to joining A Strong CPA in 2013, she worked with Deloitte Tax, LLP, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1997.
