Angela Strong Of A Strong CPA Presents As A Guest Lecturer At Texas A&M

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Angela Strong, Founder and Managing Shareholder of A Strong CPA, recently returned to her alma mater at Texas A&M University to speak as a volunteer guest lecturer at Mays Business School MBA/ Professional Program in Accounting.

Strong addressed classes of nearly 60 students of Joan Sanders, who was Strong’s professor when she was a graduate student. The focus of the lecture was a complex Excel model of data that Strong created during her first job upon graduating from the PPA program, which was with PricewaterhouseCoopers – one of the Big Four accounting firms. At the time, the firm had a $4 billion international client who was facing a legal challenge, and Strong’s model allowed for a negotiation advantage, which worked in the client’s favor. Over the years, Sanders has used the model as an example in her curriculum each semester.

“It is always an honor to return to Texas A&M and volunteer at my favorite university,” said Strong. “I am a staunch believer in giving back to those who’ve given to you. I wouldn’t have the knowledge and skill set that I have without my phenomenal professor, and I truly enjoy going back to visit with her and seeing the students excited about how they can use what she’s teaching to add value in their careers.”

Strong continued, “One thing I love about Aggies is that they are generally very kind and polite. After each volunteer session, I’ve had more than a dozen come up to me and personally thank me for my presentation. Some were specifically excited about the reality that you can in fact make it on your own and you don’t have to work for a large machine for the rest of your life. With a solid work ethic, intelligence, and strong problem solving and relationship skills, you can become extremely successful.”
