City of Conroe Recognizes 2025 Employee of the Year and Runner-Up Honorees

CONROE, TX -- The City of Conroe is proud to announce that Janeen McSwain has been named the 2025 Employee of the Year. Award recipients were formally recognized during the City’s Employee Appreciation Luncheon held on Thursday, April 30, at the Public Works Training Center.

Janeen joined the City in 2019 as an Administrative Specialist and has since become an invaluable member of the organization. Over the past year, she has demonstrated exceptional versatility and dedication, consistently exceeding expectations across a wide range of responsibilities.

In her current role as Administrative Assistant for the Community Development Department, Janeen provides essential support to daily operations while contributing to several key initiatives. She plays an active role in projects related to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, supports Code Enforcement efforts, and assists with initiatives for the Convention & Visitor Bureau. Colleagues consistently praise her professionalism, efficiency, and positive attitude, as well as her willingness to step in wherever needed. Her strong work ethic and commitment to service have made a lasting impact on both her department and the organization as a whole. The City of Conroe sincerely appreciates her dedication and is honored to recognize her as the 2025 Employee of the Year.

The City also recognizes Nicole Harper as the 2025 First Runner-Up. Nicole joined the Information Technology Department in 2017 as Desktop Support Supervisor and has played a key role in modernizing and streamlining City operations. Known for her innovative mindset and solutions-driven approach, Nicole consistently identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance the employee experience. Her colleagues value her reliability, technical expertise, and collaborative spirit, all of which contribute to a more effective and forward-thinking workplace. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, the City is proud to present Nicole with the First Runner-Up award.

Amanda Badnek has been named the 2025 Second Runner-Up. Amanda began her service with the Parks & Recreation Department in 2019 as a part-time Recreation Leader and was promoted to full-time Recreation Specialist in 2022. She now serves as Senior Center Supervisor, where she is dedicated to enhancing the lives of Conroe’s senior residents. Amanda’s leadership has had a meaningful impact on the Senior Center’s programs, services, and overall environment. Staff and patrons alike commend her organizational skills, dedication, and genuine care for the community she serves. The City of Conroe is proud to recognize Amanda’s contributions and present her with the Second Runner-Up award.
