Spring, TX Shooting: Joshua Marks Jr. Arrested, Faces Aggravated Assault and Evidence Tampering Charges After Academy Trace Drive Incident
SPRING, TX -- On April 2, 2026, deputies with Constable Ryan Gable’s Office responded to a shooting on Academy Trace Drive. Upon arrival, they learned that a female victim had been shot multiple times and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition. Constable Gable’s detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
During the investigation, the suspect, Joshua Marks Jr., told detectives that he fired at a female driver while believing she was attempting to run him over with her vehicle. Detectives later determined that the victim had gone to the suspect’s residence to retrieve her vehicle, which had been taken there without her knowledge. After arriving and entering her vehicle, she was confronted by Marks, who allegedly threw a large brick at her car. The victim then reversed and struck another vehicle, after which Marks allegedly fired multiple shots, striking both the victim and her vehicle.
Detectives also determined that Marks allegedly deleted home surveillance footage that could have captured the incident from his residence. On May 6, 2026, Precinct 3 deputies took Joshua Marks Jr. into custody on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a first-degree felony, and Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony.
