THE WOODLANDS, TX – While it might not be the largest-celebrated holiday of the year – although it does come in third-largest for sending greeting cards and second-most for gift-giving, trailing only Christmas – Mother’s Day is insanely popular as we strive to celebrate and commemorate those who birthed us.

To match those who are number one in our hearts, this Sunday’s celebration will be the best-selling day of the year for florists in sales volume and transaction count; Valentine’s Day brings in more money due to the more-expensive red roses associated with the day. The carnation is the official flower of Mother’s Day; red or pink carnations are worn to honor a living mother, while white carnations honor those who have passed away.

About 85% of us across the nation will celebrate Mother's Day, explaining why it generates the most phone calls of any day in the year, with approximately 122 million calls made. But here in The Woodlands, merely reaching out and touching someone telephonically isn’t enough for many. Fortunately, all around the Township, there are some amazing events, venues, and celebrations ready to help you celebrate that special woman.
