CONROE, TX -- A collection of stunning artwork was on full display during the recent Lone Star College-Montgomery Spring 2026 Student Art Exhibit. The show highlighted several forms of student artwork including drawings, watercolors, photography and ceramics.

“These students put their heart and soul into their work,” said Charles “Robby” Wood, MFA, LSC-Montgomery Art professor. “The depth of their talent and work is a testament to the efforts they put in this semester.”

The Spring 2026 Student Art Exhibit took place in the Mary Matteson Parrish Art Gallery and was judged by Peter Medley, LSC-Montgomery Arts professor. Nearly two hundred entries were submitted with just under forty pieces selected for the show. Once the pieces were displayed, Professor Medley chose the first second and third place winners as well as four honorable mentions.

“In addition to the Spring Student Art Exhibit, we host a series of visiting artist lectures and workshops, either in person or online, that allow our students to hear new voices, see new work, and learn about the possibilities available in an art career,” said Wood.

The LSC-Montgomery Art Department prepares students for a career in the visual arts. Each fall, an Art Department Orientation is held where information about art careers, classes, and transfers are shared. Students are also provided with advice and portfolio reviews to help them plan for the next stages.
