Montgomery County Man Arrested on Child Indecency Charges; Sheriff Seeks Additional Victims

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On May 8, 2026, deputies were dispatched to the 18000 block of Cooper Road in Conroe, Texas, regarding a report of indecency with a child. Upon arrival, three adult females came forward and disclosed allegations of sexual abuse spanning several years, dating back to the 1990s. The suspect was identified as 65-year-old Leland Fleming.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit launched an extensive investigation and determined that Fleming had been involved in various religious ministries throughout Montgomery County. He also worked with children’s choirs and homeschool groups during his time in the area.

On May 28, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Indecency with a Child. Investigators located Fleming in Madison County, Arkansas, where he was taken into custody with the assistance of local authorities. On June 25, 2026, Fleming was extradited to Montgomery County. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond and is charged with two counts of Indecency with a Child.

This investigation remains ongoing.
