THE WOODLANDS, TX – The South County Fourth of July Committee is proud to announce that the Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) will perform a special Independence Day flyover as part of the 50th Annual South County Fourth of July Parade, held in celebration of America250.

At approximately 9:27 AM, immediately following the conclusion of the National Anthem sung at Market Street, spectators will look to the sky as two T-6 advanced trainer aircraft – vintage warbirds once used to train America’s World War II pilots – make a ceremonial pass over the parade route. The flyover is carefully timed and coordinated by CAF ground crew and aircrew to deliver a powerful and patriotic moment for the community.

“We are honored to partner with the Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force for this milestone year,” said John Powers, President of the South County Fourth of July Committee. “These historic aircraft remind us of the courage of the men and women who served and the enduring spirit of American freedom.”

The Commemorative Air Force is the nation’s premier Warbird organization, operating 165 restored vintage military aircraft across 80 units in 24 states. With more than 10,000 members, the CAF is dedicated to restoring, flying, and preserving historic aircraft while educating the public and honoring the veterans who flew them.

The Houston Wing’s participation adds a meaningful and memorable highlight to this year’s expanded celebration, marking both a half-century of parade tradition and the nation’s 250th Anniversary.
