THE WOODLANDS, TX – With any luck, you’re already taking time off to celebrate the 250th birthday of our great nation. Saturday will be stocked with all things Americana, but we at Woodlands Online want to ensure you have plenty to do for any and all of the days you’re taking off this long weekend. Thursday, July 2
If you’re into Love Island, you’re not alone! And each Thursday during this season, Ale & Ivy is
Island Watch Parties that kick off at 8:00 p.m. Enjoy half-off wine, a ‘Mamacita’ cocktail special, half-off private karaoke studios after 9 o’clock, and a special ‘Girl Dinner.’

Maybe you’d like to down some mimosas or watch a rated-R movie without the kiddos around. Then drop the little loved ones off at Woodlands Sportsplex from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. for their ‘Beams, Bars, & Books’ event, featuring a storytelling session, craft time, and a gymnastics class for kiddos aged 2 - 5 (two-year-olds must have to be accompanied by a parent). Registration is only $15.

This is your last day to transform the pathways of The Woodlands and enter the community-wide ‘Let Freedom Chalk’ patriotic chalking contest. Packs of 10 pieces of chalk will be available to pick up at the front desk of The Woodlands Township Townhall, between 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today – while supplies last. A winner from each village will be selected and awarded with a trophy and prize on Monday, July 6.

Celebrate America 250 with a burst of patriotic fun at the Firecracker 5K along The Woodlands Waterway – a one-time-only, scenic, chip-timed race for all abilities. Designed for runners of all abilities, the race offers a fun and festive atmosphere that encourages both friendly competition and patriotic spirit. Participants are encouraged to wear celebratory red, white and blue attire. The event is open to runners ages 10 and older. The birth of a nation comes alive on stage as The Players Theatre Company presents 1776 at The Owen Theatre. Join John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson as they struggle, debate, and dream their way toward the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Join The City of Magnolia tonight starting at 6:00 p.m. at Unity Park for their Annual Fireworks Show. Free admission, vendors, sweet treats, inflatables, and more. Bring your lawn chairs and watch the fireworks blast off at 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 4
Put on your red, white and blue and get a prime viewing spot for the exciting South County Fourth of July Parade. The 1.3-mile parade around The Woodlands Town Center features marching bands, fire engines, clowns, floats and more. Attendees can look forward to stirring patriotic performances, including the National Anthem and ‘God Bless America,’ along with the traditional cannon salutes by Rolling Thunder that have become a beloved part of our Independence Day festivities. A panel of Community Celebrity Parade Judges will once again select winners across ten award categories, recognizing the creativity and craftsmanship of our outstanding participants. Woodlands Online will be livestreaming the event for those of you who can’t attend in person.

Two Tones Dueling Piano Bar is hosting a double-header of American celebration today. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. with their Family Friendly 4th of July Happy Hour. Kick off your Independence Day before the fireworks begin with the entire family – all ages are welcome – for just $5 per person. Mark your calendar for The Woodlands Township’s Red, Hot & Pool celebration. Each pool will have patriotic decorations for America250, activities, and refreshments (while supplies last) from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the 4th of July activities happening between noon and 4:00 p.m. Regular daily entry; free for season pool pass holders.

The big event tonight, of course, is the 29th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Woodlands Fireworks Extravaganza 2026. Celebrate freedom in The Woodlands with great food, live entertainment, children’s activities and family fun at multiple locations around The Woodlands. The event culminates with one of the largest fireworks displays in the Greater Houston area. Events in Town Green Park, Northshore Park, Waterway Square, Hughes Landing, and Rob Fleming Park. The Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at approximately 9:30 p.m., with the exception for the America 250 drone show starting at 9:25 p.m. The primary display, featuring a fireworks and drone show, will be located near Northshore Park and Lake Woodlands. A secondary close-proximity (special effects) display will be at Town Green Park. The 2026 Fireworks Extravaganza will also feature a fireworks display in the Waterway Square District off the Waterway Square Parking Garage and Rob Fleming Park in the Village of Creekside Park.

Sunday, July 5
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presents the Outlaw Music Festival to continue the Independence Day celebrations. Join Willie Nelson & Family alongside an incredible lineup featuring Wilco, Sheryl Crow, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Margo Price. This all-star lineup brings together a powerful mix of country, rock, and Americana for one epic summer evening you won’t want to miss. Note that his event enforces a strict bag policy.

Music doesn’t get more American than that from The Beach Boys, and Dosey Doe - The Big Barn is bringing you the next best thing with Endless Summer – A Beach Boys Tribute.
