HOUSTON, TX -- In September 2025, Deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to multiple reports from citizens who had been robbed after arranging to sell personal property through social media marketplaces.

Detectives with Constable Mark Herman's Criminal Investigations Division launched an extensive investigation and determined that three of the incidents were connected to the same suspect. Through the use of search warrants and other investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect as Jacob Lytle.

The investigation revealed that in each case, Lytle allegedly used realistic counterfeit currency to purchase items from victims. In one incident, after the victim realized the money was fake and confronted him, Lytle allegedly threatened the victim with a firearm before fleeing with the property.

Detectives presented the cases to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, which accepted two charges of Theft and one charge of Aggravated Robbery. Warrants were issued, and deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Special Operations Unit successfully located and arrested Jacob Lytle without incident.

Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Jacob Lytle, or who has information related to these incidents, is encouraged to contact the Constable Mark Herman's Office Criminal Investigations Division at 281-376-3472.

"Our office is committed to using every available resource to protect our community, recover stolen property whenever possible, and hold violent offenders accountable. We encourage anyone who believes they may have been victimized to come forward so we can continue building these cases and seek justice for every victim." — Constable Mark Herman
