Sheriff Wesley Doolittle Modernizes MCSO Command

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- In a major step forward for local law enforcement, Sheriff Wesley Doolittle announced a comprehensive reorganization of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Senior Command Staff. Built around a modern, collaborative policing philosophy, the restructured leadership model establishes four specialized Chiefs designed to bring new checks and balances, operational efficiency, and a shared vision for Montgomery County's future.

By surrounding himself with seasoned professionals who bring over a century of combined experience, Sheriff Doolittle is strategically positioning MCSO to address the evolving needs of a rapidly growing region.

"By structuring our command staff with four specialized Chief positions, we are creating stronger accountability, empowering experienced leaders, and ensuring every facet of MCSO operates at the highest level for the citizens we serve."

A Specialized Leadership Structure

Under the newly restructured command team, Sheriff Doolittle has appointed four executive leaders to head targeted operational areas:
Chief Robby Sells - Support Bureau: Managing essential operational support, specialized units, and long-term agency resources. Chief Sells brings a lifetime of public service in both the law enforcement and private sector to the citizens of Montgomery County.

Chief Rick Bass - Operations Bureau: Overseeing front-line patrol, investigative responses, and daily field operations to keep Montgomery County neighborhoods safe. Chief Bass brings decades of front line experience and leadership to Montgomery County.

Chief Jesse Razo - Justice Bureau: Directing all jail and correctional operations, court security, and judicial system integrations. Chief Razo has served in law enforcement leadership for decades and will draw on this invaluable knowledge in his new role.

Chief Stephanie Eckert -Administration Bureau: Leading MCSO human resources, logistics, budget management, and administrative strategy. Chief Eckert has been a fixture in Montgomery County for many years, and will pull from her extensive knowledge in finance and administration as she steps into this new role.

Prioritizing Public Trust and Media Relations

Demonstrating a firm commitment to modernizing communication, transparency, and media partnership, Sheriff Doolittle has elevated public relations within the executive leadership team by naming Miranda Hahs as Director of Public Affairs.
Hahs is a highly regarded, established public affairs professional across Montgomery County and the greater Houston region. In her new role, she will lead MCSO’s public engagement strategies, foster transparent media partnerships, and ensure community members remain informed and connected with their Sheriff’s office.

Reinforcing Homeland Security with Veteran Experience

With Chief Jesse Razo stepping into his executive role over the Justice Bureau, Sheriff Doolittle selected former Texas Ranger Pete Luna to fill the critical Captain role within the Homeland Security Division.

With over 30 years of distinguished service in law enforcement, including extensive expertise in tactical operations, field response, and homeland security strategies, Luna brings invaluable real-world experience to protect the county against emerging threats.
