Emma Salayon of the Woodlands Named Teamsters Scholarship Winner

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Scholarship Fund is proud to announce the recipients of its Class of 2026 scholarship awards, which includes Emma Salayon

Emma is the daughter of Joseph Salayon, a member of Teamsters Local 19 employed by United Airlines. Emma is a recent graduate of iSchool High at The Woodlands and will attend Sam Houston State University in the fall. Teamsters Local 19 represents over 2500 members locally in a variety of industries.

The Teamsters Scholarship Fund proudly awards 600 $2,000 scholarships each year, and in just three short years, more than 1,600 scholarships have been awarded. The money raised for the Teamsters Scholarship Fund comes from the generosity of Teamsters local unions, Joint Councils, and member service providers. The Teamsters do not allow any employers to donate to the Scholarship Fund.

Teamsters scholarships are awarded to high school seniors planning to enroll in four-year college after graduation, community college transfer students, and students who plan to attend trade or vocational schools. Applicants must be the daughter, son, or financial dependent of a Teamster.
