Legendary Tennessee Head Coach Phillip Fulmer receiving the Bear Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award last season. This year’s winner will be announced in October.
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The American Heart Association Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards announced today that HFG Wealth Management has entered into an agreement to sponsor the Paul “Bear” Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to recognizing excellence in college football while advancing the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission.
Presented annually during the Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards ceremony in Houston, the Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual whose extraordinary career has left a lasting impact on college football through sustained leadership, integrity, innovation and service. The award celebrates a lifetime of achievement that reflects the values exemplified by legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant and the enduring influence of the sport’s most respected leaders.
Founded in 2008, HFG Wealth Management has built its reputation by helping individuals, families and business owners align their financial decisions with their values. Guided by its “Rooted in Faith, Focused on You™” philosophy, the firm provides comprehensive wealth management, retirement planning, estate planning and charitable giving strategies while serving as a fiduciary dedicated to putting clients’ interests first.
The sponsorship reflects HFG Wealth Management’s longstanding commitment to servant leadership, community impact and building meaningful legacies – principles that closely align with those celebrated through the Paul “Bear” Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award and the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
“At HFG Wealth Management, we believe the most meaningful legacies are built through character, service, and investing in the lives of others,” said Larry Harvey, CEO and Founder of HFG Wealth Management. “The Paul “Bear” Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates the enduring legacy of coach Bryant as well as that of every coach to receive the honor, and we couldn’t be prouder of the opportunity to play a role in presenting the award.”
Since its inception, the Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards have honored college football’s most accomplished coaches while raising millions of dollars to support the American Heart Association’s research, education and community initiatives. The annual event brings together leaders from across college athletics, business and philanthropy to celebrate excellence on and off the field.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose careers transcend wins and championships, honoring those whose leadership has shaped generations of student-athletes, coaches and the game itself. The recognition highlights a lifetime dedicated to excellence, character and service while preserving the values Coach Bryant embodied throughout his legendary career.
Established in 2000, the Lifetime Achievement Award has honored a veritable who’s who of the college football coaching fraternity. In 2026, the Bryant Awards honored longtime Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer as the most recent recipient of the award.
“The Bryant Awards have always been about honoring leaders whose impact extends far beyond the scoreboard,” said Steven Embree, Executive Director of the Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards. “HFG Wealth Management understands that true success is measured by the legacy we leave through service, integrity and investing in others. Their commitment to those values makes them an outstanding partner for the Lifetime Achievement Award, and we’re proud to welcome them as the presenting sponsor as we continue advancing the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission.”
HFG Wealth Management has maintained a longstanding relationship with the Bryant Awards, supporting the event and its mission for several years. The new presenting sponsorship of the Lifetime Achievement Award represents a natural extension of that partnership and reinforces the firm’s commitment to recognizing transformational leadership while supporting the American Heart Association’s lifesaving work.
The presenting sponsorship will officially begin with the 2027 presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award, helping elevate one of the Bryant Awards’ most prestigious honors while increasing awareness of the American Heart Association’s mission.
Now in their 41st year, the Bryant Awards celebrate coaching excellence while raising critical funds to improve cardiovascular health and save lives. Named after the legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, who led the Alabama Crimson Tide to six national championships and was named “Coach of the Century” by the American Sportscasters Association, the awards honor a legacy that not only reached far beyond wins and losses; but had a profound influence on sport and culture.
