Six Arrested in Separate Montgomery County Burglary and Copper Theft Cases
MAGNOLIA, TX -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recently completed successful investigations into two separate property crime incidents in west Montgomery County over the past weekend, resulting in the arrest of six individuals.
On Sunday, August 16, 2026, shortly before 3:00 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress call in the Mill Creek Subdivision. Callers reported that several individuals had entered a residence and were actively removing property from the garage. The homeowner confronted the suspects in the driveway, holding one male at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived. A second male fled the location in a white pickup truck, while a female suspect fled on foot. Responding deputies saturated the surrounding area, located the fleeing vehicle, and successfully apprehended all suspects involved in the incident. Detectives from the Property Crimes Division arrived on scene to assist patrol units. All stolen property was recovered and returned to the rightful owner. 40-year-old Dan-El Dalman, 31-year-old Travis Mitchem, and 51-year-old Richard Sligar were taken into custody, charged with Burglary, and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
In an earlier incident on Saturday, August 15, 2026, just after 3:30 a.m., deputies received a report of a burglary in progress at Canrig Drilling Technology, located on FM 1488 near Magnolia. Units from the Magnolia Police Department responded to assist due to the proximity of the city limits. Law enforcement located one male suspect inside the secured business fence. Further investigation revealed a black 2016 Chevrolet Colorado parked nearby, occupied by a second male and a female. Investigators determined the suspects were using the truck to haul rolls of copper wire out of the facility yard. 47-year-old Alfred Stevenson, 51-year-old Joshua Cathey, and 45-year-old Stacy Flores were arrested for Felony Theft of Metal and booked in the Montgomery County Jail. This investigation remains active as detectives examine potential links to additional metal thefts in Tomball and Harris County.
