THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Lock your doors, head outside and get to know your neighbors! National Night Out this October is bringing neighbors and public safety agencies together to build stronger, safer communities.

Sunday, October 4, 2026
The Woodlands
3 to 6 p.m.

National Night Out is a nationwide initiative that brings neighbors, law enforcement and public safety agencies together to strengthen community connections, promote crime prevention and build safer neighborhoods. The Woodlands Township has made it uniquely its own with a series of community-wide events that encourage neighbors to meet and join together. When neighborhoods participate in National Night Out, it accomplishes one of the first steps in crime prevention: “neighbor knowing neighbor.” This year, the Township Neighborhood Services Department invites residents to lock their doors, go outside and gather with their neighbors on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Gather Your Neighbors for a National Night Out Party
The best way to participate in National Night Out and bring you and your neighbors together is to host a neighborhood party! To register your National Night Out party, please fill out the registration form at thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/nationalnightout. A National Night Out party guide is available online as well with helpful tips and fun ideas to help make your neighborhood gathering a success.

Pick Up Party Supplies and Get Ready to Celebrate
The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services will provide National Night Out party supplies during Packet Pick-Up Day. Available supplies may include balloons, giveaways, yard signs, party ideas and more. Residents can pick up supplies on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard. National Night Out Party registration is highly encouraged but not required for packet pickup. Registering your party in advance of packet pickup will help ensure availability of your party's supplies and materials.

Give Back With a Food Drive
Nonperishable food items collected at National Night Out parties can be dropped off directly at Interfaith, 4242 Interfaith Way, October 5-9, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Please make sure to mention National Night Out when giving donations to Interfaith. Together, residents can make a difference to alleviate hunger right here in our community.

Team Up to Identify the “Burglar”
The I.D. the Burglar Village Challenge is designed to promote neighborhood cooperation, crime prevention awareness and to test a person’s skill and accuracy in identifying a suspect. One party from each village will be drawn from the parties registered to participate in the challenge. A “burglar”, along with a “good guy”, will be escorted by a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy to the party chosen from each village. The neighborhood must work together as a team to help identify the burglar.

National Night Out Military Drive
Support the military by collecting items at National Night Out neighborhood parties. A list of requested care package items will be included in your supply bag. Donated items will be collected at The Woodlands Township Town Hall located at 2801 Technology Forest Boulevard, October 5-9, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Snap a Selfie and Celebrate Public Safety
Snap a selfie with public safety personnel anytime during your National Night Out neighborhood party. Post your selfie on Facebook and/or Instagram with the hashtag #NationalNightOutTheWoodlands on October 5, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. Check back on The Woodlands Township Facebook page on October 6, 2026, to see if you won! There will be two winners!

Building Stronger Neighborhoods
The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services Department works to build strong, connected neighborhoods through education, engagement, crime prevention, emergency preparedness and community outreach.
