Driver Arrested After Jeep Rear-Ends Conroe ISD School Bus in Montgomery Creek Ranch, Passenger Still Sought

CONROE, TX -- On August 26, 2026, at approximately 4:01 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that a Conroe ISD school bus had been rear-ended by a Jeep in the Montgomery Creek Ranch Subdivision in South Montgomery County.

The Jeep’s two occupants fled the scene on foot. One of the individuals was reported to be in possession of a firearm. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies, the Crime Reduction Unit, K-9 Unit, and Drone Team responded to the area along with the Conroe ISD Police Department, Montgomery County Constable Precinct 3, and the Shenandoah Police Department.

Following the coordinated response and search of the area, deputies took one suspect into custody and recovered multiple firearms. The driver of the Jeep, Larry Roman Valencia, 28, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated- Second Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Tampering with Evidence. Valencia is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

The passenger who fled from the Jeep remains outstanding; however, investigators have identified the individual and will seek an arrest warrant in connection with this incident.
