Texas Department of Insurance hears from Texans on top insurance concerns
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) released the results of its Speak Up, Texas campaign, a statewide initiative inviting Texans to share their ideas for improving home and auto insurance. The results are available at www.tdi.texas.gov/speakuptexas/speak-up-texas-results.html.
From March through July, over 200 people participated online and in person, providing feedback on the challenges they face and the changes they’d like to see.
The top challenges Texans said they’re facing are affordability and claims handling.
“Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas. Your insights truly matter, and your voices will help shape the recommendations we bring to lawmakers. Together, we’re building solutions that make a real difference for Texas families,” said Insurance Commissioner Amanda Crawford.
TDI will use ideas from the Speak Up, Texas! campaign to develop recommendations for lawmakers ahead of the 90th legislative session, which begins in Austin in January 2027. When feasible, TDI will also implement ideas within its current authority and will also encourage insurance companies to identify ways they can make improvements.
TDI reminds Texans to review their insurance and shop around for the best price and coverage. Comparing plans can help you save money and make sure you’re protected. HelpInsure.com makes it easy to see options in your area.
