CONROE, TX -- On October 29, 2026, Miles Joseph Fridrich, 27, was sentenced to life in prison by a Montgomery County jury after pleading guilty to the murder of 52-year-old Dr. Talat Jehan Khan.

On October 28, 2023, Conroe Police officers responded to a reported disturbance involving a weapon at the Alys Apartments in the 15000 block of Mansions View Drive. Upon arrival, officers located Dr. Khan suffering from multiple stab wounds. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Through witness information and the quick actions of responding officers, a perimeter was established, and Fridrich was located and taken into custody a short distance from the scene.

The Conroe Police Department would like to recognize the dedicated efforts of everyone involved in bringing this case to justice. From the patrol officers who responded quickly and apprehended the suspect, to our Crime Scene Investigators who carefully collected and documented critical evidence, and our Criminal Investigations Division detectives who worked tirelessly throughout the investigation, each played an important role in this case.

We would also like to express our appreciation to the Texas Office of the Attorney General for its work in prosecuting this case and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office for its contributions during the investigation.

While today's sentencing brings a measure of justice, we recognize that no sentence can undo the tragic loss of Dr. Khan. Our thoughts remain with her family, friends, and loved ones as they continue to grieve.

The Conroe Police Department remains committed to seeking justice for victims and their families and protecting the community we serve.
