ESD 14 & Timber Lakes VFD Fire Prevention Week open house

The fire trucks, boat, ambulance, and fire station were open to the public, and are always kid magnets. An inflatable, provided by the Montgomery County Hospital District, provided a walk-through public safety presentation for both adults and children, and there was no shortage of fire safety information pamphlets; smoke detectors were also available.

The kids had a make-it-and-take-it booth, and received fire helmets for attending. The families were treated to grilled hot dogs with all the fixins, but the best take-away was the having spent quality time with neighbors, and meeting the Timber Lake volunteer firefighters that see to the community’s safety.
