Humane Society of Montgomery County

Our vision is to end pet overpopulation and advance the humane treatment of animals. Currently, HSMC does not have a shelter location in which to house animals. Animal adoptions are temporarily limited to cat adoptions at the Portofino PetsMart location and at other offsite adoption events which will be announced. During this time, HSMC is actively exploring several options for the future, including a low-cost spay/neuter program, a humane education program for children and adults, providing pet food for joint project to feed the pets of seniors in the community in partnership with The Friendship Center, and other needed community services.
