About Us
The 2023 New Caney High School Eagles Varsity Football Team participates in District 13-6A and is led by 1st-year head coach Mike DeWitt.
DeWitt joins the Eagles with eight years of prior head coaching experience at Coppell High School where he posted a 53-36 record. Before becoming a head coach, DeWitt tasted championship glory with the 2005 Hebron High School Hawks program that took home the state title.
New Caney is coming off its most successful season to date with an undefeated, 10-0 regular season. The regular season stretch saw the Eagles put up three shutout wins as well as never conceding more than 28 points in a single game. After claiming 1st in district play, the Eagles took home a Bi-District Championship against Eisenhower High School before losing a one-point game to Tomball High School in the Area Championships.
The Eagles will open the season on Friday, August 25th against Montgomery High School in a rematch of last year's opener.
New Caney takes the field against the Willis Wildkats to open district play starting Friday, September 8th.
